About Brandon Schumacher
Hi, I'm Brandon. I founded Shu's Tutoring in 2016, and I've been tutoring full-time ever since. A bit about my background: I graduated from Cornell University in 2012, scored in the 99th percentile on both the SAT and ACT, and have spent the last 10+ years helping high school and college students succeed in standardized testing and math coursework.
My teaching approach
I focus on three things in every session:
1. Building real understanding, not just memorizing tricks. Students who understand WHY a method works can apply it to any problem — not just the ones that look like the practice.
2. Identifying patterns the SAT and ACT actually test. A small number of question types appear over and over. We focus your prep time on what matters most.
3. Building test-day stamina and confidence. The exam is as much about pacing and pressure as it is about content. We do timed practice from session one.
Where I work
All sessions are online via Google Meet, with shared materials through Google Drive. This lets me work with students throughout Florida and across the country — though most of my students are in South Florida, including the Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Wellington, Boynton Beach, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton, and broader Palm Beach County area.
